Remembering Pete Maravich

Hard to believe that "Pistol" Pete Maravich has been dead for 20 years.  He suffered a heart attack 20 years ago today while warming up for a pickup basketball game.

At LSU, he averaged 44.2 points a game over his three-year career and was an NBA All-Star, averaging 24.2 points a game.  He retired in 1980 after a leg injury made it impossible for him to play at his desired level.

Here is a video tribute to "Pistol" Pete.  RIP "Floppy Socks"

Pete could do things with a basketball that we will never see again....

He truly did pave the way for today's game. His pizazz and uniqueness added so much flair to the game. It really is a shame that I did not get to see him play. Im sure that those who did will never forget the floppy socks and tousled hair that is Pete "Pistol" Maravich.
