It's been nearly two years since we created a website that has become a favorite to thousands of radio listeners and community-minded individuals. We'd like to know what you'd like to see as we gear up for the next year. We'd like to add some new features, but we need to know what you'd like to have included on your community website. Are you a writer or photographer? We'd like to hear from you. Do you have a special hobby or skill that you'd like to share with others? Contact me. I'm interested in how we can make our website even more oriented toward things that matter to you. If you have ideas or suggestions, email me at bmann@wkdzradio.com.
We take our commitment of providing you with complete and comprehensive local news very seriously. Our news team works tirelessly to cover your local news 7 days a week, including holidays. WKDZ-FM offers a full newscast every weekday at 6 and 7 a.m., Noon and 5 p.m. You can catch abbreviated news at 8 and 9 a.m. Monday thru Friday. On weekends, you can hear your local news at 8 and 9 a.m., Noon, 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. All of our local news product is available via streaming at www.wkdzradio.com, and thousands of listeners are using the stream. We are working on our 2007 plan now. If you'd like to make a suggestion or simply comment on something we are currently doing or something you would like for us to do, please feel free to do so. Our radio stations are your radio stations, and what you think matters most of all.
I just want to remind you to please exercise your right to vote Tuesday, November 7th. We hope that you have learned about the candidates in advance and can make an informed decision at the polls. News Director, Alan Watts, has worked very hard at providing you with fair and balanced interviews with the candidates. We were very pleased to air the political forums conducted by the Cadiz Record, Kentucky New Era, WKAG3, and the Christian County League of Women Voters. Our news department has worked tirelessly to cover every race, and on election night, our entire team will be involved in providing you with complete and comprehensive coverage. We'll provide precinct by precinct coverage for Trigg and Christian Counties. We'll have reports from surrounding counties about races that impact you. You will hear the nation's top political news from Fox Radio and the Commonwealth's big stories from KNN and KET. We'll have interviews with the winners (and probably some of those who did not win the race)! Election coverage begins at 6:03 p.m. and can also be heard via streaming at www.wkdzradio.com. You can track every precincts totals with up to the minute reporting on our website. We'll Be There. Live. Local. Committed. "You Decide 2006".
There's been a lot of interest in this year's General Election. It's been suggested that we should hold a political forum so that voters can learn more about the candidates. Would you like to learn more about Stan Humphries and Marc Terrell, our candidates for Trigg County Judge Executive? Would you be interested in attending the event in person? Tell me what you think!
WKDZ is celebrating the one year anniversary of www.wkdzradio.com. It's been a phenomenal year. Our website is now averaging over a half-million hits per month and more than 3,000 new users. It's been a "work in progress", and we have much more to do. I'd like to know what you like or dislike about www.wkdzradio.com. What would you like to have included that is not there now? What's there that you don't like? This is your chance to provide input into the design and content of www.wkdzradio.com. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
