On Monday, April 30th, 2012, Singer/Songwriter Thomas Rhett spoke with Carrie on 106.5 WKDZ. Thomas, the son of Country Star, Rhett Akins, will be opening for Erich Church along with Lee Brice on Friday, May 4th, 2012 at the CFSB Center in Murray. Thomas talked about his new single "Something To Do With My Hands" and writing country music.
Trigg County native Sara Jane Ginn Arnett based her new children's book, "My Daddy's a Soldier," on personal experience. Come August, she and her three young boys will be facing her husband Sam's third, year-long deployment. She has come home as part of a book-signing tour and stopped in on Wednesday April 25th, 2012, to talk with WKDZ's Carrie McGinnis about why a resource like this is so critical for the well-being of our military children.

Olivia Rose kicked off her national radio tour at the WKDZ studios this on Monday, February 13, 2012 with Carrie McGinnis during the “On The Air With Carrie” program. Olivia Rose sang live in studio and they played her new single “Hell Raisin’ Kind Of Heaven” and talked about Olivia’s upcoming show at Valor Hall for the Red Cross. Olivia Rose is a Junior at Belmont and a Fort Campbell High School graduate.
The Mid-West Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross (serving 6 Western KY Counties) is hosting a Live Country Music Show at Valor Hall in Oak Grove on Saturday, February 25th at 7P. The Steve Goodwin Band and Amber Hayes will also be performing.

Singer/Songwriter, Amber Hayes will be performing Saturday Night, February 25th at Valor Hall in Oak Grove to raise money for the Red Cross Heroes Fund for the Mid-West Kentucky Chapter which serves six counties. Amber took time from a writing session to visit with Carrie McGinnis during "On The Air With Carrie" Monday, January 30, 2012 on 106.5 WKDZ.
Amber talked about her career and her role models. Amber was influenced early on by Country music, gravitating towards the show-stopping divas that would quickly become her role models: Barbara Mandrell, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
